Information for Educators

BC Curriculum-relevant activities for classes in K-9

Teachers of students in grades Kindergarten to Grade 9 are invited to reserve a time to participate in a free interactive, engaging and educational program developed by fellow educators that’s designed to meet important learning outcomes for each Grade within the new BC Curriculum.

As part of the free program, teachers will receive a package containing information and activities for students that can be completed before, during and following the class visit to the Exhibition.

Among the major themes that will be explored in these activities led by trained Read Me a Story Activity Coordinators:

  • The value of language and literature to help us find meaning and joy
  • How exploring a rich diversity of texts deepens our understanding and develops our ability to make connections, express ideas and think critically
  • How inquiry, curiosity and thoughtful reflection in story and text deepens our understanding of self, identity and humanity
  • Discovering how artistry and precision in language are powerful tools in communicating for specific audiences and purposes
